In today’s tough employment market, a short, interesting job application letter is imperative in order to stand out from the competition. Introduction
The job application letter should have an appropriate introduction that addresses the person in charge of new employee hiring. Try to use the person’s name in the introduction, along with a standard greeting such as “Dear” or “To.” If the person’s name is unknown, choose “To Whom It May Concern” for the letter’s introduction.

Body
The body of the job application letter needs to tell the employer about the applicant’s qualifications. Start with stating your purpose for writing the letter, specifying the position of interest. Focus on your strengths, past work history and special skills, and tell the potential employer how these skills will benefit the company. Be brief, but pleasant.

Closing
In the closing paragraph of the job application letter, ask the hiring manager for an interview. Thank them for considering your application or resume, and sign the letter using a standard closing remark, such as “Thank You” or “Sincerely.” Include your mobile phone number, home phone number and email address. If the letter is being sent in email format, remove any default signatures, quotes or pictures that may be used to send email to friends or family.

The cover letter of an application or resume is your chance to make a strong first impression. Although writing a job application letter can seem overwhelming, even novice writers can create a cover letter that helps their skills and qualities stand out from the other applicants.
